Are you Altec?, Are you related to Altec?
No. We have no commercial or legal relationship with Altec (registered trademark). Above all, we respect the Altec brand (registered trademark). We decided to continue the legacy of building high-performance speakers. We have offered maintenance and repair for many speaker models for over 25 years. Our brand, Great Plains Acoustics (formerly Great Plains Audio), manufactures versions of some iconic past models with high-quality standards, handcrafted using original tools from decades ago.
Do you sell all the old models from the past?
Our stock catalog is limited to the best-selling models from the past 25 years. We have 12 and 15” woofers, coaxial and biflex speakers, compression drivers (some with ferrite magnetic motors and others with AlNiCo), diaphragms, and crossovers. It is very complicated to continue manufacturing all the models that ever existed because unique components and special tools are required for each model.
Where can I buy your speakers?
Currently, we only sell them in our online store on the Shopify platform, which serves customers in America, Asia, Oceania, and Africa, and in our eBay store, which serves the United States market. We will soon open other online sales points.
Our European customers can purchase through our sole authorized distributor, Admire Audio, which is located in Spain and serves all European countries.
Where are GPA speakers manufactured?
80% of our materials come from suppliers in the United States. We have two factories, one in Oklahoma City, United States, and another in Saltillo, Mexico. Both locations have the same assembly quality and use exactly the same materials. We commercially comply with the origin denomination to bear the "Made in the United States" legend.
Do you pick up my Altec or GPA speakers from my home and send them back?
No. The final customer is responsible for shipping and final collection. They are also responsible for shipping costs.
What is your relationship with Troy Audio?
Troy Audio is a sister company that builds speaker cabinets largely using Great Plains Acoustics speakers. Troy Audio and Great Plains Acoustics belong to the same business group.
